Hey Wait A Minute Mr. Postman!

No, I'm not gonna break out in song at any minute here, but I do have that song stuck in my head now and maybe you do too! LOL!! I've had a love-hate relationship for quite a few years with the post office now and have discussed this many, many times online on various forums and in other posts. But recently my relationship has been more hate than love. Twice I have come home and the mail and packages I so lovingly left for the postman to take has been left sitting there, unloved, uncared for, untaken. Which meant that for my customers their orders were delayed another day. Ugh! So what's a gal to do? I could have called the post office and complained but that would have only gotten someone in trouble. Our mail route has been given up by our regular carrier...it was too much for him...he picked an easier route to do, so there are a bunch of fill ins right now. And one of the fill ins I really, really like. He's a nice young man...very cheerful and polite. So I chose instead of calling and getting a letter of reprimand put in whomevers file to write them a love letter and tape it to the mailbox as a gentle, but firm reminder to please take my mail. It worked like a charm....the mail was gone. In fact, the days I see my fill in carrier, he asks me if I have anything to go. Guess a little honey does go a long way afterall. Until next time....

  2. Dee, I've had the same thing happen. I was furious, I scheduled a pickup online for the next day. Left the boxes on my front porch, came home and there they were. The kicker was, they got out of the vehicle to deliver a package and put it right on top of the ones they were supposed to pick up! HELLO. Luckily I get out of school at 2:30 and ran them back into town. ARGH. I feel your pain. ~Ann

  3. Felicia,

Well they cooperate for a bit, then things seem to go crazy again. I guess the post office wants to keep me on my toes.

  4. Moosecraft,

Yes, it is wonderful when nice works. I just wish they would assign the new carrier to my route so I can get him broken in...had the last one very well trained.

  5. Ann,

I guess the carrier was in his own little world that day, huh? I had a similar incident again since my love letter. The fill in for the fill in...yep kinda redundant, but anyway, he put the mail in my box, tucked the scan form right back in and left the packages there right under the mailbox. I tried to catch him as he was walking away but he didn't hear me. I thought he had headphones on and that was the issue. Well called the post office about the packages. They sent him back out to pick them up....he said he completely missed seeing them...guess he was in the zone and he said he definitely didn't hear me say anything....sigh!

So now I have made a sign to put on the box...of course they will have to read it, so we shall see what happens.
