To Protect and Serve

My middle son Joshua, just entered the Maryland State Police Academy this month. His dad and I are so proud of him. It was a long process....6 months and only about 80 were selected out of over 2000 applicants. It's run much like a military boot camp and we've spoken with him once last week to see how things were going. He seems to be doing okay and hopefully he will continue to do well and graduate from the academy in July.

When we got the news that Joshua was accepted, I made this sign to honor all the men and women who protect and serve the citizens of our nation. It is available for sale on my website.

Until next time...

  1. Welcome back Dee. I hope your time away was restful and stress free. Best wishes for your son's brave endeavor.

  2. Carol,

My time away wasn't that restful...I did so much including becoming a " mower woman" helping my hubby in his lawn service business, doing 3 craft shows, celebrating 2 children's birthdays, of course the holidays...and various other events that life throws at ya...not complaining...just wished there was more time in the day.

I am hoping that this career path is the one my son will be happy with and will bring him fulfillment to his life. I also will be praying that God will keep him safe while he will carry out his duties. Thanks for the best wishes...I will pass them on to him.

  3. Good to see you back blogging Dee! Congratulations to your son, that is quite an accomplishment being chosen from over 2000 applicants. I wish him much success in his chosen career and I think your sign is wonderful to honour those who serve and protect. Deb

  4. Congratulations to Joshua! I'm sure you are proud parents, that's quite an accomplishment to be selected among so many. Wishing him well.

Neat sign that you made Dee, love it!

  5. Doesn't that make you so proud! Our SIL was an officer for 10 years before he went full-time National Guard. We are so glad our daughter is so well protected. That is a very vigorous training to go through. What an accomplishment.
Love the sign. Love the commitment.
Missed you. Hope to see more of you.
