Market Place Monday

Every Monday, the etsy group I belong to spotlights and promotes members of our group. We have a talented bunch of ladies at the olde farmhouse. My feature artist today is Becky of WVluckygirl. Dontcha just love her name? Becky says she chose it cause as the saying goes "if you're lucky enough to live in the mountains you're lucky enough" and since she lives in the WV hills, she must be a very, very lucky gal!


Becky has been selling on etsy since December 2009 after a customer asked why she didn't do etsy. So Becky let her fingers do the walking and the rest is history. She said she was pleasantly surprised to see all the handmade things that were offered for sale on etsy.


As you can see Becky offers a little bit of everything. She loves making prim decor and occasionally throws in a little shabby chic as well. I just love these labels....great for making those potion bottles that are so hot right now and perfect for the upcoming Halloween season.




Becky has been crafting as long as she can remember. Her mother would allow Becky to help when she was creating something and once Becky learned how to use the sewing machine, she was hooked! LOL! Inspiration for her craft comes form anywhere and everything. And like any true artists, she takes her customers ideas and turns them into works of art.



Becky's favorite piece in her shop is the framed stitchery in the first picture. Simply your life, believe in your dreams, See with your heart, Know what it means. What a lovely sentiment. Let The Celebration Begin...

That is the Old Farmhouse Halloween Celebration! The OFG group on etsy is having an awesome celebration to kick off the Halloween season.





There are 37 individual members shoppes participating in the spooktacular event. Each member was allowed to enter up to 4 different items in the celebration. Here are 4 of my new signs for the celebration. I just love this one.




The gals of the farmhouse have been working hard sewing, painting, gluing, nailing...well you get the idea. And...yep, this celebration will be the unveiling of them all.





So hurry on over to etsy and check them all out. You may just find a goodie or two waiting for you. And I promise, we won't make you do tricks for your treats!

OFG Kitchen Swap

The group that I belong to on etsy, Old Farmhouse Gathering, had a kitchen swap. The requirements were to include a vintage kitchen utensil, 3 recipes, and a small handmade or bought item.

I was paired up with Julie from Primcountrycreations . Julie sent the cutest little clay sheep ornie, along with a frosty little snowman ornie also made of clay. Julie also sent a vintage wire whisk spoon. I already have plans for how to decorte this little beauty. Oh and the 3 yummy sounding recipes. I can't wait to try the fruit dip one.


I sent to Julie....shhh...at press time, her package was still in transit, a small wood sign that said "Julie's Kitchen" on it. A set of 3 canning jar lid magnets that have a watermelon body chicken on them. I use to paint this chicken all the time and they were always a big seller for me. I think the vintage kitchen tool that I sent was a melon ball maker, but not quite for sure but it's cool and different. I also shared 3 recipes for baked goods...all of them are my favorites.

I have to thank Brenda of therustythimble for putting this swap together. She does a super job of thinking up cool themes.

Supply Swap

A crafter can't have too many supplies now can she? I belong to an etsy group, Old Farmhouse Gathering and the gals decided to have a supply swap....not that I need anymore but I figured what the heck. My partner was Bette from Tomorrows Treasures. Bette is a sewer as well as a pattern designer and she also has a notions selling shoppe on etsy...whew! Three shoppes here and I can barely keep up with one! Anyway be sure to check out all of Bette's shoppes.

I've got to say if I had to pick one item out of all that Bette sent, I would have to say the flat head cut nails are a favorite. Can't wait to rust those babies up and find a use for them.

Fall Celebration OFG on etsy

The Old Farmhouse Gathering is having a Fall Celebration on Etsy. The member have brewed up some cool Halloween and Fall decorations just in time for your autumn decorating. Members are allowed to enter up to 4 items which will be showcased in treasuries and on blogs.

They are also having a basket giveaway, chock full of items handmade and donated by various members. So be sure to wander over to etsy to check out all that the members have to offer and be sure to be on the look out for the basket giveaway announcement. Here's a sneak peak at my enteries....






Isn't this just the cutest little sign? My hubby doesn't pay attention too well and he cut the wrong size sign blank. Off I went searching for the perfect stencil to use on his oops. Sure wish all his screw ups turned out so well...






A Halloween celebration wouldn't be complete without a coven of witches practicing their craft...or in this case...conspiring.

There's A Mouse In My House

I received my swap today from Teresa of Teresa's Primitive Treasures. We are both members of Old Farmhouse Gathering on etsy. Teresa sent me the most adorable little mouse sitting on a pin cushion. From his whiskers, to his curly tail and tiny legs and arms, the details on him are incredible! I tried to take some pictures to show you.




Teresa also sent a cute wood box with little chicks around the bottom and a sheep with a chicken riding on his back on the top. She also sent a cute prim notepad with a bunny on it.
